Anna Rennie

As a silversmith I use traditional silversmithing techniques of raising and planishing. I particularly enjoy making drinking vessels, often looking at ancient glass and pottery vessels for inspiration. I also make bowl, spoons and candlesticks often working to commission for a special item. I have several pieces in collections around the world.

The jewellery I create is influenced by the ancient craft of maille making (chainmail). As one of four people on the Heritage Crafts Red List of Endangered Crafts I utilise and develop these skills to use a variety of metals. Using these ancient techniques I make pieces for re-enactors, private collections as well as wearable statement jewellery in silver, gold, steel and bronze.

I graduated from Truro College with a BA (Hons) in Silversmithing & Jewellery, and went on to study at Bishopsland.

In 2025 I was made Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers, and this year received my Freedom of The City of London.

I teach from my own workshop in Cornwall as well as at various UK locations.
